The Atlas: The First Cervical Vertebra

May’s experiences have been both informative and healing. ‘The more you know, the less you know’, I am certainly finding to be true. Opening one’s mind to new information raises more and more questions which need to be answered. The learning curve never ends!

A revolutionary new treatment which returns the atlas bone to its natural position is now available in London. The first cervical vertebra – the atlas – is apparently dislocated (luxated) in most humans. This miss-alignment causes stress to the body and results in both physical and psychological ailments and illnesses.

Rene-Claudius Schumperli developed this unique method in Switzerland in the 1990’s. Only 3 specially trained practitioners offer this treatment in the UK, I was fortunate to see one of them this month.

Prior to my appointment with the practitioner, Marie, I read some fascinating patient’s testimonials; improved eyesight, relief of back pain and sciatica, realignment of the jaw which rectified dental problems, release from hip and knee joint pain and cured lumbago. Though the reports of improvement were endless, each client’s experience was unique.

The atlas, when luxated, creates pressure and restricts the vertebral arteries, the carotid and the lymphatics. When returned to its correct position, the body’s natural self healing processes are once again able to function naturally, as nature intended.

The flexibility of my spine was checked first. Lying face down on the treatment table (I can’t remember why but I was instructed to keep my shoes on) Marie bent my legs back towards my bottom. Too busy and too fat to attend yoga for the past six months, a vain glow flickered within me when she nodded approvingly, ‘not bad eh’.

Struggling to get off the table brought me back to reality, the vanity glow vanished, I realised how stiff my posture really was. Now sitting in an upright chair, Marie stood behind me and began to work on my neck. Every now and then she asked, in her adorable french accent, ‘are you ok, is it too much?’

The treatment is not painful, a special tool, invented by Schumperli, is used on the muscles at the base of the skull. After some 10 minutes of intense massage, these muscles relax and allow the atlas to gently slip back into place. Flexibility of the spine is then checked again. The previous resistance had vanished, his time my feet touched my bottom quite easily.

Post treatment, my neck felt entirely changed, it was now swanlike, long and graceful. My head felt more balanced. The human head weighs at least 4.5 kg but mine, now supported by an aligned solid base, felt as light as a feather. Standing up, I staggered a little, Marie suggested that I walk up and down the corridor to regain my balance. At first un-coordinated, my posture soon re-adapted. My back was straighter, my hips were more fluid, my legs were longer, my feet made solid contact with the earth. Naturally comfy with this new alignment, I realised how much energy had been needed to compensate for the previous imbalance.

At night I dreamed rubbish dreams and my feet tingled intensely. This sensation emanated from my big toes and spread throughout my feet. Never having thought about my big toes before, I researched where the atlas bone is represented on a reflexology chart of the feet? Guess where it is? The big toes!

Marie was keen to promote the treatment rather than her own healing abilities, but it must be said that as I listened to her explanation of how the treatment works, I slipped into such a relaxed state of mind and melted like putty, totally ready and open to receive. Schumperli’s method could not have a better ambassador. She believes so you believe, positive energy has already been transferred.

Post treatment, the body’s self healing process kicks in big time, I had been warned that any old injuries, physical or psychological, may well rear up and push some outdated buttons, which certainly happened. With a knowing smile I didn’t fight back and no longer able to hold me to ransom, these outdated thought forms slipped away forever. Hallelujah! thank you Mr Schumperli and thank you Marie.

Other changes are occurring within me. Apart from needing my glasses less and less, I am not so prone to procrastination, more focused upon my goals. At the point of the atlas, my neck tingles, as if an energy of some sort is now returning to life.

A second visit, two weeks later, is included in the cost of the treatment. Massaging my back and neck, Marie used another special device, a Scenar, which removes all memory from the body’s cells. It seems logical that even though the Atlas has been corrected, the muscles and cells have memory of the previous condition. This tool was invented by Russians in the 1970’s and was used by the Russian space centre to overcome the unique problems of space travel. Emitting electrical signals , it stimulates the immune system. Everything said so far about this treatment is based on fact, but I hear your cries for the alternative view!

Interestingly, mothers whose atlas is dislocated, produce babies whose atlas is also dislocated. Mothers whose atlas has been corrected, produce babies whose atlas is in the correct position. Prevention is better than cure, imagine what a great start to life our babies would have if born with their atlas already in it’s natural position. So how could the beautiful Mother Nature make such a mistake in the design of the human body, I don’t believe that she did.

There are reports of people who have a distant memory of Atlantean times, they remember the experience of their atlas being dislocated, they even remember the tool that was used. It is possible that this process was performed in order to disconnect certain strands of our DNA. Well documented that we humans only use a portion of potential brain power and only have two strands of DNA connected out of a possible twelve, this disconnection would seem the perfect tool for those, who in the past (or even now) have sought to control us.
