In the past I have given various simple ways of dealing with past issues (printed in New Dimensions of Healing) and now I would like to introduce you to another one, which I am going to call Past Life healing. Let us try it together now, so I am going to ask you to go back into a situation that you feel deep down inside you is very unresolved.

1. Sit back and relax...

As you do so I want you to consider this situation that, on a very deep level, feels unresolved. You all know that one way of dealing with this is to allow yourself to be taken back into a relevant past life situation. But I am going to ask you, in this instance, to allow your imagination to take that feeling of ‘unresolvedness’, and to say to yourself:

“I own within me that this feeling relates to one or more past lives; and at this moment in time I feel ready to release and let go of those lives . . . to acknowledge that there is part of me that knows that this feeling has been with me for a long, long time . . . I have allowed it to stay there because, on one level, it has provided me with the realisation and motivation that at some time I would have to face it and deal with it.”

2. Going back

Now this can be a very painful process because in many cases it will involve you going back into a situation where there was a great deal of pain, a great deal of suffering and often a great deal of injustice:

“Why was I treated like this? Why was I subjected to the fear, the constant being put down – trodden on, my emotions and feelings becoming squashed? Can I ever really move beyond it? Is it going to be there with me for eternity even to the point when I finally rejoin the Godhead. Is that still going to be part of my ultimate light and shadow?”

Now that, interestingly, is your choice, there are no ifs, shoulds or buts, it is your choice. But one thing you can do is to acknowledge that that past life experience which is still giving you this feeling of insecurity, of being out of control, can be placed into a rightful perspective. 

3. So, I want you to look at the light and shadow of this feeling and say:

“Why did this happen to me? Why did I have to suffer? And yet, what have I learnt from it? How have I grown from it? What has it given me the determination to do in a future life? To help others? To prevent others being put into such a situation? To learn and understand that unconditional love is the only ultimate answer?

4. I would like you to say out loud the following words:

“I love myself for what I am. I acknowledge what I might have been. I honour what I might have learned from it. Am I ready to move beyond it? I am going to try.  (louder) I release the negativity of that past life experience. . . I allow myself to move beyond it with great joy. . . and this new dimension of energy that I am drawing within me is lifting me above the need of criticism and judgement of myself and of others. . .”

5. Now breath deeply in and out 3 times.

Each time feeling that you are releasing and letting go of that burden, and I think you will find a new energy entering your total being on all four levels.  Allow yourself to reach out, to lift your arms, to open your heart, to open your mind, to open your whole being. . . and as I say these words I would like you to try and feel them and think them in every cell of your being:

“I have come into this incarnation to experience in a new open way, in which I have released myself from a deep level of unnecessary burden.. . . I acknowledge that I am a beautiful creation of God, I acknowledge that I am part of God as God is part of me. . . So we are at one.”

6. Now gently return to the here and now.

Acknowledging your physical body, grounding yourself, feeling a new person, feeling that new energy, knowing that you can now face the world from yet another dimension of being, of experience.
