Dubai, Sheikh Zaid Road

Dear All,

I just got back from Dubai, where to my delight; my recent trip went really well, so much so, that I ended up extending my stay. I would like to especially thank my friend “B” for her hospitality, Stephanie for her superb organisational skills, Karin Meyer-Reumann for her support and referring clients to see me; and of course my ‘old’ as well as new ‘Internet’ clients who came to meet me in person for the first time from Kuwait, Qatar as well as India. My gratitude also goes to 7Days Magazine who carried a feature on me. My next trip to Dubai will be during the first week in May (1^st-9^th), tel. + 97150 879 0956.

During my stay, I had the chance to meet and connect with many wonderful people, practitioners, including the amazing psychic Ari (who’s father, curiously enough, is the seventh son, of the seventh son). I was also pleasantly surprised to find out that interest in holistic matters is alive and thriving in Dubai.

Apart from the traditional tourist trappings, it seemed to me that you can truly find, or do, just about anything in Dubai: you can swim in the middle of winter, ski in the middle of summer, take a hot-air balloon ride into the blue skies, ‘shop till you drop’ (literally- there must be a mall per capita in Dubai!), or simply escape into channelling classes or Full Moon Desert Drumming safaris. Dubai is a magical place- to say the least!

Since my last trip, four years ago, Dubai seemed to have spread in all directions; I could recognise none of the ‘old’ landmarks. The City has spread east, towards the sea, as well as west deep into the desert; where numerous developments and man–made islands have mushroomed at such a speed, and continue to do so as you read this.

Serious journey planning is needed too- the numerous rush-hours and traffic jams are as bad as London’s! Also, you may have to be specific as to which direction you would be taking. There’s now ‘Old Dubai’, ‘New Dubai’, ‘Bur Dubai’, downtown Dubai…it’s endless.

The impact of all this, including the not-so-politically-correct energy gulping Ski Slope (to which my only other comment is that, it preserved the sanity of my teenage niece, since she found herself an inspiring job as a snow boarding instructor), must be enormous on it’s inhabitants and the economy; but what about the impact a growing culture has on the world of spirit?

I was asked by a troubled client to visit her home to remedy a phenomenon that was upsetting her family, nanny and was experienced by few neighbours and the estate manager too! Three days prior to the visit, I started to tune-into the place, and my client said that things had been quiet then.

When I had visited her home, the impressions I received were deeper and more meaningful; about how man and land existed in the distant past, before the spirit of the serene desert was pounded and piled; conveying a strong sense of ‘being invaded’. Those who are naturally psychic, in her family, picked up on theses ‘vibes’ and experienced what they did. The whole family now sleeps well!

Here in the UK, we changed the clocks to summer time on the 26th of March, the weather is, reluctantly, improving, and the days are getting longer. What more could one ask for, apart from lunch with a dear friend, while in the outside world a solar eclipse takes place?
