A long and hard search into decaffeinated coffees, lead me finally to the discovery of Bewley’s Decaff fresh ground coffee at my local super market store. To my delight, the result is full flavoured coffee, free of caffeine and chemicals.

 

Bewley’s registered this process, known as Swiss Water Method. Surprisingly, there is more information on the product pack than there is on their web site.

 

One day, I hope, they would realise the potential and consider applying the same process to creating *decaffeinated Turkish coffee- another indulgent habit – not only of mine, but the entire Mediterranean. Until then, however, I will be reading the regular Turkish coffee cups at the Battersea Holistic Fair in July!

Helpful hint: Paul O'Toole, Bewley's Coffee Taster and Buyer, offers some helpful hint for preparing the perfect cup of coffee:

Use water that is just off the boil. Boiling water burns the coffee so remember to boil is the spoil. (The best brewing temperature lies between 91 and 96 degrees Celsius.)
