The Institute of Biocognitive Psychology www.biocognitive.com/ through
CelticPathways www.celticpathways.ie/ offers training leading to a
Diplomate in Biocognition for the health care and service professions and for individuals interested in personal mind-body-spirit development.
The didactic-experiential training program will be presented in 3 consecutive four-day modules consisting of two half-days and two-full days (total of 18 classroom hrs. per module) within a period of 12 to 15 months. Additionally, 10 online forums (1.5 hrs each) will be interjected between modules as the non-residential component of the training.
During the last two training modules, students will choose a topic of interest in Biocognitive theory and will write a “thought paper” or research proposal as part of the requirements for the diplomate.
The first class will consist of a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 25 students. Depending on enrollment commitments, the first module is scheduled for May 24-27, 2207. All residential classes are taught in Dublin, Ireland.
Objectives:
· To provide professionals comprehensive training in Biocognitive psychology theory and practice (how cultural beliefs affect communication, health and longevity) that would be applicable to their respective specialties.
· To provide the general public comprehensive training in Biocognitive psychology for personal development.
· To provide students in the health and related academic programs a foundation in Biocognitive psychology to enrich their undergraduate or graduate education.
Benefits:
· At no additional cost, participants in the Dublin program can also attend classes offered in the planned diplomates at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas and at the Institute of Biocognitive Psychology in Nashville, Tennessee.
· Students have unlimited access to a private forum on the Institute’s website to engage in informal dialogues with other diplomate students (US and Ireland) as well as to participate in the scheduled non-residential sessions.
· Selected graduates of the program can participate in future classes as teaching assistants at no extra cost.
· Since Biocognitive theory is comprehensive and humanistic, no specific academic or professional background is required. Students are only required a serious commitment to learning and to relinquishing cultural mindsets that promote a life of limitations and unworthiness.
Tuition:
· €1,300 per four-day module
· €3,900 for the total cost of the diplomate (3 residential modules and 10 online forums including required reading materials and training cds)
· The certificate is titled
Diplomate in Biocognition and is awarded by the Institute of Biocognitive Psychology - USA.
· A €500 deposit is required to guarantee placement in the program. The deposit is fully refundable if classes do not start by the scheduled date of May 24th, 2007.
