Q1. Are certain kinds of coffee better for readings than other?

A1. yes, the fine grounded coffee is best, either dark blend, Turkish, or lighter, Greek blend. Coffee grounds Readings are psychic readings which use a cup of coffee as though it's a crystal ball. Ground Turkish coffee is mostly used; you may find that the coffee grounds are darker than those of Greek coffee and this makes seeing the patterns in a cup slightly easier. Equally, however, you can also use Cypriot or Armenian coffee. What is also important is the way in which coffee is made and its consistency so that grounds form a residual at the bottom of the cup:

Q2. Do you ever see negative images in the coffee, or are messages generally positive?

A 2. I see both. the key is interpretation. An experienced reader would know whether a future outcome is foretold or whether it is the current state of mind of the coffee drinker! What you always see, in any prediction is a probable outcome; we can make changes happen.

"Consider the status of mind the person you are reading for is in; for it may influence what you see. Sometimes, if a persons mind is so set on something, it will be projected in the cup and you will see that as symbols. In this case, it does not necessarily mean it would happen or materialise- just that it reflects their hopes or fears. With practice and through tracking what you see and what happens, you will begin to differentiate between the two. "I do not tell the enquirer if I see something negative, this is because:

"You would be plating a seed of fear in their mind, and taking away their self-will! The best reading is one that inspires and empowers. Keep in mind when interpreting symbols, your state of mind, perception, or preconception, can influence your interpretation. Also, the state of mind of the person you are reading for can influence the grounds and how they form, and this may influence what you see. Sometimes, if a person’s mind is so set on something, it will be projected in the cup and you will see that as symbols. In this case, it does not necessarily mean it will happen – just that it reflects their hopes or fears. With practice and by tracking what you see and what happens, you will begin to differentiate between the two."

• Is the future pre-determined? Can I change events in my life even after a reading has predicted them?

We all have free will. we are the masters of our destiny- in deed our lives. Our destiny is really about learning how to ‘steer’ among the myriad of choices, and how to recognise real opportunities from false ones as we journey through life. Fortune telling can only help if it empowers you and reminds you of this truth. A cup can reveal inspiring information to encourage on your way. But if you do not nothing, nothing will happen! Any method of future telling can only give you a probable future, of what might happen if you follow a particular course of action; just like a road map. A cup reading can show you the map, various routs and possibilities, perhaps even points out certain ‘exit signs’, or particular details that could help guide you to the destination. It is your ‘divine’ (and empowering) right to chart the journey. Without a map, one can might get lost, arrive late; or miss the destination all the together!"

Q3. When you see images in the coffee, do the same images mean the same thing for different people?

A3. Generally speaking yes. However, the difference is where the symbols fall within a cup (indicates timing) and whether they are accompanied by other symbols, which adds to the meaning of the interpretation. Also, A coffee cup which has been drunk in a hurry, without the intention of having it read, or while not in a relaxed state, can’t be read. Coffee grounds do not appear to form any meaningful patterns- merely chaotic brown dots, or mud, in a cup! This is probably true for any form of divination; if your focus or intention is not present the medium used will not provide a useful insight into the future

Q4. Are there ever situations when you can't get a reading from someone's coffee?

A4. Very seldom. My experience has shown me that the intention, or the emotional and mental condition of the drinker affects how, and what, symbols the coffee grounds shape; that is they reflect the drinkers ‘vibes’ at the time they drink coffee. it depends on what state of mind the enquirer is in. If they have been through a traumatic time, then they could be 'blocked', in which case I ask them to come back after short period of time when they are feeling better. The other factor is the enquirer has to take time in drinking the coffee, in a contemplative mode so their thoughts are in engaged in the process. If not, the cup would be meaningless, particularly if drunk in a hurry. Also, strong emotions can influence the way the grounds are formed. Releasing any attachments to a particular outcome when you drink the coffee as well as when you interpret is essential.

"Several years ago, I was at a family gathering in Jordan, where it is customary to have Turkish coffee after dinner, when everyone would turn the cups over having drunk their coffee. My cousin Samiya, who is a coffee cup reading enthusiast, asked me if I would interpret the cups. It was a big gathering, so by the time I reached her brother- in-law’s cup, Maji’d, I found the patterns to be meaningless- and I could not read it. So I asked him to drink another one, and another until one could be read; at which point he confessed that he was ridiculing the credibility of coffee cup readings, and has been mixing left over coffee grounds in a cup and turning it over without actually drinking it!"

Q5. What are the benefits of coffee reading verses other forms of fortune-telling?

A5."Turkish coffee-cup reading is an ancient way of fortune telling, however, remember that the best way to predict the future is to create it! Coffee grounds can be very accurate in describing action required, giving specific details, to help you understand what has developed and why; because the same individual symbols can depict people as well as circumstance at the same time- other forms of prediction do not. Coffee is a lighter, perhaps more enjoyable and not 'feared' as other oracles!
