Much has been written about Dr Red Spearole Tea last year. How 3 cups a day helps you lose weight, and bring blood pressure and waist line down. But I only came to know about it when I walked into a health shop in London looking fordecaf green tea. The salesperson (yes, I am being PC) at Revital health shop leapt to tell me about Spearole MediterrAsian Blended tea. So I bought a pack to try it.
At £15 for 150gr a bag, my husband laughed when he read the ingredients saying I've been had. The ingredients contain 91% green tea, and buying green tea, of the same quantity, would have been for a fraction of Spearole retail price. However, we both agreed to give it a try.
"Spearole Tea is a blend of green tea, spearmint, grape seed and olive leaf extract. In laboratory tests, the Aussie researchers discovered that rats eating a fat-and sugar-rich diet doubled their waist size and their blood pressure rocketed. But when the tea was added to their diets, the fat around their middles
disappeared
and blood pressure returned to normal – even when they were still eating a 'junk food' diet."
"Dr Red Spearole Tea is a complex blend of super foods which provide a diverse array of antioxidants. Each cup of Dr Red Spearole Tea contains the antioxidants of 3 whole cups of tea (Spearmint, Olive Leaf and Green Tea) and a glass of Red Wine. It which has the benefit of being highly concentrated with a diverse array of antioxidants. Scientists at The University of Queensland have made remarkable progress with this powerful food concept that boasts an array of powerful antioxidants from superfoods.
Green tea is a type of tea made solely with the leaves of Camellia sinensis. The leaves undergo minimal oxidation during processing.Olive leaf is the leaf of the olive tree. While olive oil is well known for its flavour and health benefits, the leaf has been used medicinally for many years. Natural olive leaf and olive leaf extracts have been shown to have antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory effects at a laboratory level.
The approach was to test individual antioxidant beverages and combinations in the laboratory and then determine the optimal formula."
Apart form the fact that it states absolutely delicious, and smells great, we found it to be very refreshing, pleasant to drink, and noticed a tangible difference as well. Our weight did drop down a bit, about 4 pounds in 4 weeks, and my blood pressure did come down slightly. Whether that was a direct result of the weight coming down, or the tea- hard to say. Still, we noticed that it helped a great deal with digestion too.
The pack says that each 150 gram pack makes 100 cups of tea. And that it did too! If you are in the UK, you can order this online from:
If you have tried it, I would love to hear from you. Please post your comments at the bottom of the page. And my decaf green tea? Well, nothing beats Clipper's for an every day cuppa.
