Spirit gave her, her name: Asandra. She started having spontaneous mystical experiences  at the age of sixteen. Today, Asandra expresses herself as a multidimensional being through her work as an artist, writer, and metaphysician. In this interview, we discuss what chanelling is, and how it can be useful as well as practical.

If you’re thinking of getting a reading from Asandra, you’re very lucky. But to get the most out of it, you need to understand what it is and what it isn’t.

First of all let me very briefly introduce myself so you get that I’m not just a neophyte, impressed by someone who is a bit intuitive. I have been working in the field generally defined as spiritual and personal growth for over 30 years, and have worked with hundreds of people.

In the last 10 years my Motherwave Institute, a seven-level mystery school (now simplified as Soulwave Institute) has trained over a thousand people in powerful life skills, (including how to access spiritual guidance in the body rather than by leaving the body).

Yet I consider Asandra––or rather the group of my spirit guides who come through Asandra––to be my teacher. Why? I should mention that I’ve worked with most of the psychological and spiritual teachers and teachings on the planet. While I always draw benefit from everything I receive, I can count the people and teachings I would unconditionally endorse to others on the fingers of about half of one hand!

I’ve worked with other mediums, and have “auditioned” innumerable psychics and channels that people have recommended. None of them has ever come close to the power, authenticity, accuracy and inspiration that I receive through Asandra. I already know all the theories. I don’t need to listen to you channeling your higher self about my life––I have a healthy higher self too! Tell me something I don’t already know!

And the thing is, the guides do that. So… well, there I have to surrender! I have found that the guides through Asandra really are guides, not just an artifact of consciousness created by her intuition. They are apparently NOT Asandra’s higher self (I know this because I know her personally quite deeply and she is wonderful and very different from the guides). When I was the most lost that I have ever been in my life, the guides knew exactly (a) what was going on, (b) why it was happening (c) how to frame it for me so that I could get through it all and (d) my soul destiny.

That’s the main point: they know your soul destiny!

Last year my “circumstances” evolved into a major drama in which everything I thought of as me and my life got snatched away. I turned immediately to Asandra, after 5 years of no contact, and I can honestly say that I don’t know how I would have gotten through this Dark Night of the Soul without the love, support and wisdom I have received.

But here’s the thing: When you sign up for a reading, especially your first reading, you cannot possibly really know what you are signing up for. It’s one of those things where you don’t know what you don’t know. This kind of spirit communication is very rare. There are lots of imitations out there, but the real thing is so subtle and profound that you may actually miss the point at first. Because you are very likely looking for “answers” to some very burning questions. You have already decided what the “issue” is and what “answer” will resolve it.

And in fact I have found that the guides can give this information at times. But this is not the point. They are there to give you actual spiritual guidance, to guide you on the shortest possible distance between where you are now and where you want to go. They know where you want to go because they exist at the level of your soul. They hang out with your soul, and know it intimately. They probably helped you plan this incarnation. They know why you are going through what you are going through.

So when Asandra goes to sleep and her voice changes slightly, and some beings with strange names like “Antara” introduce themselves, when they start to talk you may be thinking: “Okay, okay, nice spiritual concepts, but what about my girlfriend? Is she going to leave me? Should I invest in Microsoft?” Or whatever your fixation about your life is today. And you don’t listen to what they are saying.

It may be impossible to hear them, because all your attention is fixated on what you think your question is.

Then by the time they ask you if you have any questions, you have already gone into a kind of frustrated disappointment (“yet another thing I’m spending money on that doesn’t work!”), and you don’t even get their answer.

I have referred many, many people to Asandra, and about half of them “get” what is happening in the same way I do, and get really excited, and call me up and want to play me their tape. And the other half is polite but disappointed, because “the guides just went on about some general spiritual stuff and I didn’t get my answers.”

“Have you listened to your tape?” I ask… “Oh yes, I wonder what I did with it?”

I listen to my tapes a lot, and in the last couple of years I have been transcribing them, to make a record of my journey into and out of hell, and how perfectly I was guided. The thing was, what they guided me towards was always what I deeply knew inside. In many cases I felt drawn to take paths that people around me judged and advised against, but I knew my soul was guiding me. And the guides through Asandra would always say the same thing! Their guidance matched my inner guidance, but sometimes I was out of touch, and their words would be a powerful awakening. Otherwise I would never go with it. I’m not about to give away my power to anyone!

So here are my handy hints to really getting the gold out of these readings:

1)  Listen closely when they start their discourse. That is NOT, repeat NOT, a general spiritual discourse they are giving. In my experience it is a remarkably precise, personal-to-you read-out of what your soul is needing you to hear.

2)  Listen to the tape more than once. It may be deprogramming you from a way of thinking that has you stuck, even if you don’t realize this at first. I am amazed at how every word and choice of phrase has deep significance.

3)  Ask your questions insistently, leaving enough time in your hour to get responses. Be loving and respectful, as they are to you, but don’t be afraid of repeating or rephrasing your question until you can really feel the response. The guides are not defensive or authoritarian. What they say may not be what you wanted to hear; it may sometimes be taking you in a direction you didn’t want or expect to go. But you really did want an actual answer from your guides rather than to have your ego pandered to, didn’t you?

4)  Enjoy the delicious and rare experience of receiving personal attention from your own guidance on the outside, instead of just on the inside.
