Dr Atwater is one of the original researchers of the near-death phenomenon, having begun her work in 1978 after experiencing 3 NDEs herself the previous year. Today, her contribution to the field of near-death studies is considered on par with those of Raymond Moody, author of the world famous book Life After Life. Her first two books, Coming Back to Life and Beyond the Light, are considered the bibles of near-death experiences.

In this interview, we also discuss recent findings, that were not included at time of publishing in her latest book about the The Indigo Children- she refers to as The New Children; including the after effects of children’s experience such as increased intelligence, new genes, and how the brain physiologically changes; and the leap humanity, the Fifth World, is about to make prophesied in the Mayan Calendar. • Dr. Atwater, welcome to PsychicPocasts.com. As a professional intuitive, the future interests me. I also strongly believe that the children- our children are the future. • Dr Atwater. I first sent you an email asking your permission to publish your article entitled “The New Children- Are the Really Indigo” on my online Psychic & Spirit magazine. To which you kindly replied immediately and gave your permission.

• In your email, and if I may quote you, you said:

“The extent to which ‘indigo revolution’ and ‘world indigo day’ are now being carried is strictly hype, a gross exaggeration of truth that benefits the promoter, not the kids. What alarms me the most are the churches and the parents who support it. The result is beginning to look more like child exploitation than uplifting or helpful revelation.” My question to you is: who are the new children, and are they Indigo or Crystal? And what is special about 1982?

• Dr. Atwater, you have researched the field of near-death studies since in 1978, and you have tracked the impact of consciousness transformations, especially with children, since 1966. Of your seven books containing your findings, The New Children and Near-Death Experiences compares children who had near-death experiences (kids who "changed") with those born from 1982 onward (kids who were "different" since birth). You mentioned “These two groups compare in ways that are both startling and unsettling. Because of this, I wrote "Beyond the Indigo Children: The New Children and the Coming of the Fifth World.” Your new Book goes beyond NDE, and indeed beyond the New Children. As you said, and I quote: “These news ones are unlike children of any previous generation. Yet to understand them, one must also have a better understanding of our times”..What is going to on with us the human race in terms of development and evolution? What is the Fifth World? (the challenge of the fifth chakra)
