Dear All,

Just when you thought you are getting your head around age old concepts of spirituality, Karma, and reincarnation- The Chinese Government recently proved itself to be ahead of everyone else by stipulating a law that regulates reincarnation, thus, giving it legal significance. According to new law, it is now illegal to reincarnate without prior approval!

As of September 1^st, the State began affecting requisites regarding the procedures by which one is to reincarnate. “The so-called reincarnated living Buddha without government approval is illegal and invalid”.

Please t ake a moment to register this: Tibet’s living Buddhas have been banned from reincarnation without permission from China’s leaders.

According to The Times the “14-part regulation issued by the State Administration for Religious Affairs is aimed at limiting the influence of Tibet’s exiled god-king, the Dalai Lama, and at preventing the re-incarnation of the 72-year-old monk without approval from Beijing”. The Washington Post also commented “ Still, it remains unclear what Beijing will do if such a reincarnation takes place outside its borders. And who can say where the spirit of the departed 16th Dalai Lama may travel next.”
