Many people wonder what is going on in the world around them. Many inquire if this is an indication of a massive shift in consciousness. You must be aware that this shift has been going on since you were born into this life. In fact, your life is about the shift. You came here into this life for that reason. This is an opportunity for the collective consciousness to awaken. Understand, however, that not everyone awakens in the same way at the same time, although the collective simultaneously moves forward regardless of the level that each individual is experiencing.

Wherever you may find yourself in your awareness as an individual, you are a part of the collective. The thing you can do is to be cognizant of your participation in the awakening as a conscious being. To accelerate your own breakthrough means that you become aware that you are awakening. Awakening doesn't happen to you. Awakening happens because you choose it at the conscious level. It is only then do you become an active and conscious participant in, not only your awakening as an individual, but of the collective.

It is far too easy to get caught up in the constant flux and change of the world around you. And yes, those changes are happening at an accelerated level. That is even more reason to be connected to your true soul so that you are not tossing and turning as a result of all that is transpiring around you in the world.

It is important to become free so that you can gain this higher awareness and walk your path unaffected by outer circumstance. It may not be easy to extricate yourself from the drama, either in your own personal life or the world around you, but it is a requirement to become free. Isn't it freedom that you truly want at a deep level of your being? You may define freedom as love or money or career or family or some other form. But ultimately, it is the nature of the soul to desire its own liberation so that it is not bound by limitation and external flux and change. This is indeed the time of awakening. It is not this particular moment in the year 2009 of your calendar, however. It is your entire lifetime, and the reason for which you have come into this incarnation.
