Sufi Master, Sayed HAmra Ahsan launches iktara.co.uk. Iktara website aims to celebrate the universal Sufi culture of love and divine oneness.
This celebration expresses itself through music, poetry, dance, healing and joyful living. iktara means 'one string' and relates to both the single-stringed instrument used in the Indian subcontinent to create trance-inducing music, as well as to the single 'string' or thread that represents the unity of being.
iktara was founded by Syed Hamraz Ahsan, a creative writer, poet, columnist, healer and Sufi practitioner. Born into a Syed family, his ancestors are renowned for their Sufi links. Hamraz is a follower of 16th century Sufi saint Hazrat Madho Lal Hussain. Hussain was a joyful Sufi, following the sensual path of spirituality. iktara seeks to celebrate Sufi traditions and to explore those elusive areas thathave rarely been touched uponby scholars.
On the periphery of the established Sufi orders thereis also awhole esoteric scene that, with itsmulti-dimensional colours, needs to be rediscovered.
Through writings, publications, videos, cds, workshops and events, we aim to advance the Sufi culture of love, truth and peace in a world full of conflict and agony. We also wish todisperse knowledge ofSufi healing practices and the esoteric Sufi knowledgethat is demandedby our present time.
The website carries interesting Sufi Products and details what happens in Sufi Healing session, Dam Healing:
Dam means breath, blood, inner self, life, soul, energy and it also means 'now and here', moment, and time. Dam healing is hands on healing in which the divine healing energy is transferred through the healer to the client. Often, along with the palms of hands, the energy is also being transferred through eyes and by blowing sacred spells upon the person being healed.
This spiritual energy healing methodhas beenused for centuries with wonderful and blessed results. To enhance the traditional Dam healing, a new technique is being applied that uses the six subtle points (lata’ef) in the human body. One can call these points 'Sufi chakras' but they are distinct from the Indian chakra system. By using an esoteric knowledge of the workings of the human body, the self (divided into three basic parts by their attributes) and soul (spirit), healing is effected and a feeling of well-being is created.
