Rt. Rev. Mary Bell Nyman is director of the Psychic Horizons Center, in Colorado, USA; and has been teaching and reading for 23 years. She teaches six-month clairvoyant and healing classes. Mary directed several schools for psychic children as well as working with handicapped children for 17 years. She currently works in Hospice helping families and patients deal with death.

Psychic & Spirit: 'There is so much in a name,' what does your first name mean? Favourite colour? Soul number (sum of the digits of your date of birth reduced to numbers between 1 and 9. Example: 12.04.1956 = 1+2+4+1+9+5+6 = 3+4+3 = 1)?

Mary-Bell: My favourite colour is ocean blue green and my birth date is an eight.

Psychic & Spirit: why do you do what you do? When did you start? And what is in it for you-personally?

Mary-Bell: I have been a practicing psychic for 25 years. I started at 3 yrs old when my mother was killed in a car accident. I had 4 siblings at the time and we were all under the age of 6. Because she left so many babies, our mom visited us as spirit many times. We were all able to see her and communicate with her. My greatest tragedy became my best gift. I have been clairvoyant all my life and professionally began using my abilities at 27 years old. It is like breathing to me and I believe in using ones gifts to help the planet evolve. So I personally use my spirituality to help the planet become more conscious. I love it.

Psychic & Spirit: A Turning point: Was there a teacher, a book, or an event that inspired/influenced what you do, or started you on your path?

Mary-Bell: My mother started me on my path. My dad is a doctor so I was always interested in healing as well.

Psychic & Spirit: An unusual, special or extraordinary memory of an experience that still sticks in your mind? What was the significance of it for you, etc.  (something that you do not mind sharing)?

Mary-Bell: I taught young children how to meditate and one day one of them manifested, molecule by molecule, a library book in my hand. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten over that!

Psychic & Spirit: What are you working on currently, and what is your next project?

Mary-Bell: I direct a psychic centre, where we teach people how to use their spiritual abilities. I would like to teach people in prison how to meditate and find peace inside. It would be great to bring that same ability to our government members.

Psychic & Spirit: A favourite book/quote you were inspired or influenced by?

Mary-Bell: One of my favourite books is Journey of the Soul, by Michael Newton, (Amazon USA). It describes where you go after death. It is how I have experienced communicating with people who have died and moved on, written in print.

Psychic & Spirit: You are going on a much deserved holiday, what treasured items are you most likely to always pack and take with you?

Mary-Bell: When I travel I always take a picture of my husband Keith and our two Shin tzu’s, Teddy and Zu Zu Petals with me. Home is where the heart is and I love my family.

Psychic & Spirit: What would you like to be when you 'grow up'?

Mary-Bell: I am being me and I plan on doing that till I die. As far as growing up? You are never too old to create a little mischief.

Psychic & Spirit: When you are not working, how do you have fun?

Mary-Bell: I relax by oil painting, remodelling houses and listening to music.
