2006 certainly brought an exploration into the forces of destiny, resulting in my current understanding; that although our lives are indeed predestined, making us subjects to the forces of fate, within our lives we do have certain freewill; we are able to choose in each moment how we react to the events destiny presets us with. Based on this understanding I believe it is possible to change our destiny and to work as co-creators with a far greater force of consciousness to design our future. For now I am putting the theory of co-creation to work in my own life and will update my insights as life experiences bring clearer understanding.
For 2007 I seem to be turning my attention to the science and art of alchemy; the transformation of energies from one state of being to another. Alchemy can be seen at play throughout the world; you can see it nature, the way the light of the sun turns a bud to a flower; a caterpillar becoming a butterfly and fossils becoming oil becoming plastic becoming a variety of forms and structures. At the moment I'm exploring alchemy on an emotional level.
I understand that you cannot ignore emotions and make them go away; you can only transform them into other energies; anger to passion; sadness to joy and hate to love. I know we all have the ability to take control of our thoughts and emotions and that through the process of alchemy we can transform our whole being. However, what I did not realise quite so clearly until recently is that the process of alchemy requires PATIENCE and that it takes TIME.
Turning anger into passion is not an overnight process; once the intention to change is set, indeed you are half way there, but the transformation process requires time for acceptance; to accept that which we cannot change and the way things are now while opening ourselves to a new possibility. The process demands some retreat and time for healing and transformation, as a caterpillar does when creating a chrysalis: time out in a safe place where you can focus on the change that is ready to occur.
The process of changing form also requires a willingness to break free from old patterns and embrace the new; a change that we quite naturally fear for it presents us with the unknown.
Emotional alchemy is essentially about recognizing what needs to change, making an intention about what you want to become and a willingness to embrace the process, while maintaining faith that whatever the transformation presents you with, you will succeed in making the change and when the moment is right you will allow yourself to fly free.
At the beginning of this New Year, take time to clarify who you have become, what aspects of yourself you feel ready to shed and who or what you are ready to become? Then, in your own time make a clear intention to initiate positive change so that you may become your future self and take a step closer to fulfilling your souls destiny.
