This is a refreshingly simple, unique, and
intuitive book. I loved it in its entirety form cover to end. The content, the presentation,
size, cover design, texture of paper, even font size and type- and so would you!
In her book, the author, Ana Lora Garrard,
encourages readers to explore the meaning of their dreams on a spiritual level,
through “the heart”, rather than any intellectual analysis and ready-made
interpretation form off-the-shelf dream dictionaries. She says “
Dreaming is
the way your soul offers you guidance every night”. As you go through the
book, which is a smooth and enjoyable read, you will actually begin to look forward
to sleep time!
The book is presented in four parts. Part 1
presents and answers questions about dreams, inner wisdom, and how your soul
uses dreams to guide you, part two is entitled heart centred dream exploration
tools demonstrating how the soul offers insights in a dream, part three, aptly
titled and is an original idea: The waking dream.
It explores ideas and provides
tools for exploring your life as a waking dream (brilliant!) and finally, part four:
the dream circle, showing how to form a dream circle and work in a group with
others who are committed to explore dreams and life in a meaningful way (also brilliant).
The book reads so smoothly, that you will find yourself
flicking one page after the other – until you reach the end. Answers are
provided in a direct and understandable, and presented as a FAQ to dreams.
Almost
every aspect of dreaming is covered, explained in a coherent, soulful, and intelligent
manner:
Can dreams predict the future, provide healing, or open the door to
a higher power? What’s the significance of recurring images, nightmares, and
dreams of loved ones who have died? Are all dream images part of me? Why don’t remember
my dreams, etc.
Ana Lora Garrard explains: “Please remember that
this book is intended as a guide and a source of inspiration. It is not a tome
of ultimate truth. Although I frequently speak with a voice of authority, I
encourage you to embrace only those concepts that resonate with you and toss
the rest out of the window. I would be delighted if some of what i have learned
in my journey may be of service to you in yours”. And it is with this spirit
that her book is presented, with grace, humility and from the heart.
Well done
Ana!
