Angels Watching Over Me is a collection of after-life stories sent to Jacky Newcomb, The Angel Lady, from people around the world and there is a seemingly endless supply of examples of after-life communication contained therein; be it loved ones using animals, technology or symbols; out of body experiences; dream visitations or synchronicities. Having a keen interest in the spiritual realms myself, this book leaves no doubt in my mind that Jacky is fulfilling a purpose to bring evidence of survival and information from the realms of spirit and angels to the wider audience.
I enjoy Jacky’s down to earth writing style and for that reason alone this book’s a very easy read.
It’s a particularly useful and informative book if you are new to spiritual matters as Jacky clearly explains many topics and answers many questions such as what happens to the soul when we die, what life’s like on the other side, the difference between ghosts and spirits and what to expect from visiting a medium.
This book would be a very comforting read if you recently lost someone or are unable to move on with your life due to grief. The messages contained within are very positive and uplifting and there are hundreds of examples where people have been able to receive the affirmation they needed that their loved ones are safe and happy. Likewise there is also guidance for those who dearly wish to communicate with their loved ones on the other side but have so far been unsuccessful.
If you are interested in the after-life and all questions pertaining to it I do recommend reading ‘Angels Watching Over Me’ as there are many concise snippets of interesting information. Jacky usually writes no more than two or three pages on any subject so it’s easy to digest without overly-complicated explanations, using real examples to back up the information. Because of this concise writing style, as a reader I felt I could easily dip in and out of this book which is a positive if you don’t get much time to read.
‘Angels Watching Over Me’ also gives accounts of famous peoples’ experiences of the after-life. I particularly enjoyed reading how Winston Churchill, naked except for his cigar, saw the ghost of Abraham Lincoln in his room at the White House. Apparently Churchill quipped, ‘Mr President, you seem to have caught me at a disadvantage’ to which the deceased president is said to have chuckled and disappeared.
Whilst giving accounts of some of the more unusual methods of spirit communication this story also caught my attention: Karen and her daughter Sam were joking one day about the unusually low tone of Karen’s voice . Sam decided to record Karen on her mobile so they could play her voice back. She set the record button whereupon the house phone rang.
Karen went to answer and began chatting while Sam decided to go upstairs for a shower. Later on, when Sam replayed the recording they could hear Karen’s phone conversation in the background but overlaying this they both could clearly hear Karen’s sister, Anne, saying ‘I’m here Karen’, yet Anne had passed over six years’ previously.
Having been on the receiving end of angelic communication via animals myself, I am always interested to hear similar stories and there are again many, such as the mother-in-law who always shows up as a red admiral butterfly in the oddest of situations, such as a labour ward on a cold, November day.
Jacky also gives practical guidance on honouring the memories of loved ones who have passed, for example, creating a remembrance garden or altar, participating in a charity event or collating information on the loved one’s life when he or she was alive. All the practical guidance given remind us life is for celebrating and living.
In all, this book’s a very compassionate and uplifting read without being overly sentimental or ‘syrupy’ . Jacky’s down to earth writing prevents this as well as her pragmatic style of using real examples in place of over-wrought explanations.
There is much information on all topics related to the after-life and is given in a concise way which is easy to digest. I would end by saying that, appropriately, this is a great book to have on your bedside – and as one of Jacky’s readers discovered, her books can sometimes in themselves lead to dream visitations from loved ones.
